Peter joined GJE in 2007, having graduated from the University of Cambridge with a masters degree in Natural Sciences, specialising in Chemistry. During his degree, Peter studied a broad range of subjects, including inorganic chemistry and pharmacology, before eventually focussing organic and supramolecular chemistry. His final year research project involved the synthesis of organic compounds and their use in dynamic combinatorial libraries for studying the complexes formed between an oligomeric receptor and a guest molecule. Peter qualified as a European Patent Attorney in 2010.
Peter's work covers a range of chemical technologies, with a particular focus on insulation products and fast moving consumer goods, such as detergents, bleaches, sanitary products and skincare products. He has also worked on inventions in the fields of pharmaceuticals, refrigerants, and electrochemical gas sensors.
Working predominantly for multinational corporate clients, Peter has gained significant experience in opposition and appeal proceedings before the European Patent Office, representing clients at hearings on a number of occasions.
