Senior Associate
Kerry joined GJE in 2009 after working elsewhere in private practice for around eight years. He has a Masters degree in Molecular and Cellular Biochemistry from The Queen's College, University of Oxford. Kerry qualified as a European Patent Attorney in 2006 and is also a British Patent Attorney. He became a senior associate in 2010.
Kerry handles patent work in the chemical, pharmaceutical and biotechnology fields. He has experience in identifying inventions and advising on patent strategy including drafting, filing and prosecution of patent applications in the UK, Europe and elsewhere for start-up companies through to large multinational corporations. He has represented clients in Opposition and Appeal proceedings before the European Patent Office and has experience in carrying out freedom to operate exercises.
On the chemical and pharmaceutical side Kerry has experience in patent work relating to polymer chemistry, drug formulations and peptides and other small molecules. He also has experience in patent work in a wide variety of biotechnology areas including genomics, proteomics and drug delivery systems as well as food technology.
