Isobel joined GJE in 2004 after having been awarded a First Class Honours degree in Natural Sciences from Cambridge University, specialising in Chemistry. She qualified as a European Patent Attorney in 2008 and as a Chartered Patent Attorney in 2009.

Isobel has been involved in a diverse range of technologies in the life sciences field including drug delivery, medical devices, pharmaceuticals and protein, nucleic acid and polysaccharide chemistry. She also has extensive experience of dealing with chemical subject matter including printing ink compositions, polymer chemistry and laundry and dishwasher detergents.

Isobel works directly with corporate clients of all sizes, advising them as they have built Patent portfolios to further their business aims. This has involved providing advice regarding prosecuting Patent applications in the UK and Europe, and representing clients in Opposition and Appeal proceedings before the EPO. She has varied experience of drafting and filing applications for smaller British based firms and private inventors. She has also procured supplementary protection certificates on several authorised products in the UK.

In her spare time, Isobel enjoys skiing and travelling.
