Brendon graduated from the University of Auckland in 1992 with a degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering. He began his career in New Zealand where he qualified as a Registered New Zealand Patent Attorney and became a Fellow of the New Zealand Institute of Patent Attorneys in 1996.
Brendon first joined GJE in 1998 where he worked on technology mainly in the electrical and mechanical fields. His clients included Illinois Tool Works, Matsushita, Fujitsu and Xerox. In addition to these multinational companies, he also acted for individuals and smaller British companies. He gained experience in most aspects of British and European practice and was even involved in (very rare) UK Intellectual Property Office revocation proceedings.
After the birth of his first child in 2002 he and his family returned to New Zealand where Brendon rejoined the firm of A J Park as a Senior Associate. There he acted for a range of large and small clients including some of New Zealand's leading manufacturers such as Fisher & Paykel Appliances, Navman and Fisher & Paykel Healthcare in home appliance, GPS in-car navigation software and healthcare appliance technologies.
Brendon rejoined GJE in 2006 where he is again involved in advising clients involved in the electrical, mechanical and software areas.
Outside of work Brendon enjoys travelling and his young family.
