Intrepid trio abseil Broadgate Tower, raise over £1,600 for the British Red Cross

GJE star abseilers Michela Cester, Kay Leadley, and Sarah Hepworth launched themselves from the the top of the Broadgate Tower this week as part of a bid to raise funds for the British Red Cross.

Despite adverse conditions, described by onlookers as “a stiff breeze” the three successfully reached the bottom of the 165 meter, 33 storey tower, pausing only for a brief wave to their colleagues on floors 9 and 10. They raised sponsorship in excess of £1,600 for the charity.

A group of admiring spectators watching from the 10th floor, agreed that it looked a lot of fun and that they would be more than willing to take part next time, adding: “No, really”.
